ENJOYABLE EVENING
OFFICE-BEARERS ENTERTAINED. The Rev. Lawrence and Mrs Rogers entertained the office-bearers of First Church and their wives at a social evening in the Church Hall. Over 40 guests enjoyed a very pleasant evening. During the evening the Misses Kay and Dempster, Mr and Mrs Walter Burrow, Mr R. Ivay and Mrs Palmer entertained the company with songs, recitations and pianoforte solos. After supper the Rev. Mr Rogers gave expression to his gratitude to the office-bearers and their wives for their co-operation in his /r ork and for their kindness to him and his wife. Mrs Rogers then presented a bouquet of violets to Mrs Ramsay to commemorate the anniversary of the ringing of ‘‘Rabbie Burns.” The evening was closed with family worship.
