One councillor said experimenting was not enough. There had been something wrong in connection with the lire- The efficiency of Uie appliances had been lauded, yet they had failed, and the whole thing was completely out, of control of the brigade. Eventually the Council decided to call for a demonstration and also to make a searching inquiry into all the circumstances of the lire.
