PRODUCTIVE COWS.
ON OTOROHANGA FARMS. SOME FINK RECORDS. The following is the latest test of one of the two herds of grade .Jersey cows the properly of Mr F. 0. RPhillips, of olorohanga. 'J'here are 08 cows in this particular herd, and 17 of these, tested during September, I IRIS, averaged 4.5, and produced 89.5211) of huller-fat. In October, 28 cows, 4.0 lest, and ■it).7 hutter-fat. November, 29 cows, 5.1 test, and 59.25 hutter-fat. December, 58 cows, 4.8 test 52.05 bultcrfat. January ( 1929), 38 cows, 4.9 test, and 47.21 hutter-fat. At Mr Phillips's pedigree stud farm (Meadowlatids) one cow produced ;j;j;jlh hutter-fat in 198 days, whilst another animal produced 8821 b ol' fat in' 180 days. Ail of these, cattle arc producing on top-dressed pastures, without any artificial food whatever.
