WOMAN’S ORDEAL.

SUSPENDED BY WEDDING RING. (By Telegraph.—Press Association.) NEW PLYMOUTH, Tuesday. To be suspended by her wedding ring for some moments when a box she was standing on collapsed was lhe amazing and painful experience of Mrs Wilson, wife of Mr James Wilson, of Manaia. The injury Mrs Wilson sustained necessitated " her removal to the Hawera Hospital, where her finger was amputated. She is recovering satisfactorily. Mrs Wilson was standing on a box and reaching into a high cupboard when the box collapsed. Her wedding ring caught on a hook and for a few moments she hung there, suspended by the ring. , The great strain, however, caused her finger to be severely lacerated and she fell to the floor in a fainting state. The injury caused great loss of blood. . The ring was pulled into an elliptical shape by the weight of the fall.
