MOTUMAOHO.
The Holidays. Christmas and New Year are past, and most farmers here managed to get at least a few hours .oft iu spite of .the
fact that this season of the year is full of strenuous work, including ensilage and haymaking. Motumaoho was well represented at the Presbyterian Conference in Hamilton, and the delegates have returned filled with enthusiasm. The fact of associating with some eight hundred / young people drawn from all parts of j (the Dominion, the inspiring addresses from some of the outstanding leaders | of the denomination, coupled with Bible wholesome recreation, will do a lot to. foster a robust Christianity which should do much to help '{our national life. The trips to Rotorua, Arapuni and Waitomo Caves were well patronised ! and much enjoyed, and the organisers of the conference are to. be congratuated that everything was carried out so successfully, not the least item being the excellent catering. The Hamilton City Fathers are to be thanked for their kindly thought in throwing open the swimming baths free for the use of delegates. Personal. The late Mr McLeod, of Waipuna, was a familiar figure in Matumaoho, and we greatly sympathise with his son and daughter-in-law in their loss. Mrs Gilchrist has returned to Palmerston North after spending Christmas and New Year with her sister, Mrs B. U. Barlow. Mr and Mrs Amon are on holiday in j Auckland. I Miss Warren is spending a holiday with her sister, Mrs Wooderson, in Motumaoho. Mr and Mrs Fagan have returned to Motumaoho after a vacation at Waihi Beach.
