TIRAU.
Land Deal. A big transaction in land took place last week, when some 1800 belonging to Mr James Taylor, Cambridge, were sold to Mr W. Main, of Tirau, the price being £lO per acre. Personal. The Rev. W. T. Brabyn, who underwent a slight operation in the Rotorua Hospital last week, has returned home. A large number of Tirau residents are spending a few weeks at the beaches at Waihi and Tauranga. Lambs.' A large number of lambs left the district during the week, Mr W. Main shipping 22 truck-loads, Mr R. 11. Bailey 27 truck-loads, and Mr J. Allan some 1300. Farming. The weather for the past month has been bad for haymaking.
