COMING-OF-AGE PARTY.

JOLLY EVENING. On Wednesday evening Mrs J. Ritchie gave a very pleasant dance in honour of the coming-of-age of her daughter Eileen. The function was held in Toorak Hall, which was prettily decorated in mauve and pink, presenting a gay appearance. The evening was passed with dancing and competitions, which proved very diverting. The two competitions were won by Mrs Hodgkinson and Mr H. Graham and Miss Stewart and Mr A. Hodgkinson, while a Monte Carlo dance was won by Miss Sybil Graham and Mr D. Gunn. The most important event of the evening took place during supper, when Mr J. Ritchie handed the key of the front door to his daughter. In a short speech he welcomed the guests and congratulated his daughter on attaining her majority. Miss Ritchie suitably replied, and was accorded musical honours.

Toasts to Air and Mrs Ritchie and to 'Miss Ritchie were honoured. The music was supplied by Mr Les Garter, ably assisted by the Collegians Dance Band; while Mrs Barker and Mr G. Barker played the extras. Those present were: Mesdames J. Ritchie, Barker, J. Neil, W. Morrow, TI. Spencer, Hodgkinson, Paice, Misses Eileen Ritchie, Ethel Ritchie, E. Rothwell, M. Morrow, H. Phillips, M. Nolan, M. Holland, M. Coombe, F. Everest, R. Stewart, M. Hinton, P. Spencer, M. Hopkinson, S. Graham, Mabel Flyger, K. Sweeney, A. Walker, D. Walker, M. Flyger, and A. Graham.
