BRIDGE PARTIES.
JOLLY AFTERNOON. Mrs F. Jolly entertained a number of friends to a very pleasant afternoon’s bridge on Wednesday, at. her home. She received her guests in a charming frock of claret-coloured embossed chenille. Those present were: Airs G. Hyde, Mrs H. J. McMullin, Mrs P. L. Stevens, Mrs E. R. Gresham, Mrs E. F. Peacocke, Airs 11. J. Greenslade, Airs A L. Sheppard, Mrs Furze, Airs T. Jolly, Mrs E. A. Cox, and Miss G. Jolly. PLEASANT TIME SPENT. Last week a delightful progressive bridge party was given by Airs C. M. llume, Whitiora. The highest score was made by Airs E. J. Mears. ihe guests were: Alcsdarnes F. B. Jolly, E J Stewart, W. H. IN HONOUR OF GOLFERS. The ladies of the Hamilton Golf Club entertained their Auckland visitors to a bridge evening last night at the Lyceum Club. Airs P. Stewart, acting president of tbe club, in the absence of the president, received the guests. The prize for the successful player of the evening was a beautiful finely-beaten brass cigarette ease studded with brilliantly-coloured stones. Those present were: Mesdames .T. Wilson, Rathbone, Hodges, Faber, D. Abbott, R. Rainger, Alisses J. Reid, AlcGovern, M. Macfarlane, F. Rathbone, E. Culling (Auckland), Mesdames Douglas, W. 11. llume, H. T. Gillies, E. J. Mears, A. .Toll, It. AVorley, Masters, E. A. Gox, Mander, T. A. Mil’roy, Les Day, G. Gower, C. O. Bennett, R. Guy, Misses Seavill, Stevens, Hamrnond, and Wilkinson. IN AID OF HOWARD LEAGUE. Mrs H. A'alder held a very enjoyable bridge party on AVednesday evening at her home, “Edingthorpe,” River Road, in aid of the Howard Reform League funds. Mr do la Mare, in a few wellchosen works, spoke Lo those present of the aims of the league. Mrs Valder wore a frock of amethyst panne velvet with Duchesse lace. Primroses, violets, and narcissi filled the bowls in the room, and a blazing fire added a cosy finish. Aiiss 13. Hammond and Mr ■ Lang were the successful players of the evening.
