THE LEAGUE GAME.

THE ENGLISH TEAM. REFEREES APPOINTED. The council of the New Zealand Rugby League met last evening, Mr C. A. Snedden presiding. Mr G. F. Hutchins, manager of the English Rugby League team, advised that the itinerary for the tour of the Dominion had been approved, and that the arrangements for accommodation and travelling were satisfactory. The team was looking forward to a visit to Rotorua. The English team will arrive in Auckland by the Aorangi on Monday morning. The New Zealand Referees’ Association submitted Mr A. Harlock, of South Auckland, as referee for the match against England at Taupiri next Wednesday. Mr W. Perry, of Hamilton, was also nominated. It was decided to forward Mr Harlock’s name to the English team for approval. Mr L. Bull was appointed referee for the first test match, and Messrs W. Mincham and P. Rogers linesmen. NO CIVIC RECEPTION. PROTEST TO MAYOR. AUCKLAND, Friday. Strong exception to the decision of the Mayor, Mr G. After further discussion it was decided to approach Mr Baildon and ask him to reconsider his decision. INNIS MEMORIAL SHIELD. HAMILTON PLAY HUNTLY. Everest, A. Taylor, Hill, G. Taylor, C. Vcrnall, Cameron, llogg, T. Everest, Wilson, A. Vernall, Shaw, Quin, and Wcsnesky.
