SAMOAN 1 COMMISSION.

A HIGH CHIEF’S FEARS. MAY HAVE TO WORK. OVERBEARING FAIPDLES. (Special to Press Assn, by Radio.) (Rec. October 4, 11.30 a.m.) -wre^i APIA, October 3. Moananu Parfoi told the Commission that Malietoa, witness’ father, was king, but witness was disentitled and banished. Discussing the pedigrees of the chiefs, and referring contemptuously to a speech made by another chief, witness said such chiefs had complained against him, but he was of higher rank than they. He was against the medical tax and against the Administrator’s proposed subdivision of land, which might cause trouble in his family and result in witness having to work to the Faipules by the Administrator for someone else. The authority given made them overbearing though they were only Government servants representing nobody.
