BRITAIN’S NATIONAL SPIRIT
SAKLATVALA IMPRESSED. STRIKING SPEECH AT BATTERSEA. A STARK MARVEL. (British Official Wireless.) RUGBY. Oct, 2. Mr S. Saklatvala, Communist M.P. for Battersea North, made a striking statement at Battersea in connection with the National Lifeboat Institution. Speaking of the national sea spirit of Britain lie said whatever views and opinions one might hold there was not the slightest doubt that the advances of the British nation right across the seas and all over the world would remain as a stark marvel or a historical miracle. Viscount Curzon, Conservative M.P. for Battersea South, who was- on the same platform, mentioned that Russia had asked the National Lifeboat Institution for advice as to lifeboat services. This had at once been given.
