GORDONTON.
Football Club. The opening dance of the season was well attended. Mr W; Carswell actea as M.C. The music, supplied by Mrs Bell and Mr Wilson, added greatly to a most enjoyable evening. The Gordonton team journeyed to Te Kowhai on Saturday, and after an even and friendly game Te Kowhai won by 5 points to nil. All the new members were played in this match. The form of some showed great possibilities.
Personal. Mr and Mrs Geo. Gray, accompanied by Miss Jeanne Waites, of Kaiapoi, are expected home at the week-end from a motor trip to Rotorua. Hall Committee. The annual general meeting of the Hall Committee, to be held next Thursday, should appeal to all local residents, and a large attendance is hoped fQr. The business to be done will include the election of a trustee in place of Mr J. Parker, who has resigned owing to having left the district. Mr Parker held oflice for a great many years, during which he was a highly esteemed ollicer.
