TE UKU.
Harvest Festival. Harvest festival services in connection .with the Methodist Church were held at Te Uku on April 3. Rev. P. Paris preached to a good congregation. Mr Williams, of Hamilton, rendered a solo and Mrs Orton Wallis a violin solo. On Monday evening a sale of produce was held, about £lB being realised. Social. In the Memorial Hall- a largo gathering of people assembled to bid farewell to Miss Cogswell and Miss L. Cogswell, who arc leaving the district, after a residence here of many years. Dancing occupied most of the evening. After supper had been handed round Mr Lusty, on behalf of those present, presented the guests with a handbag each.
Mr J. 11. Dent also spoke of the esteem in which the Misses Cogswell were held.
Dance music was supplied by Mrs Thompson, Miss Newton and Mr G. Dent. The singing of “For they are jolly good fellows” and “Auld Lang Syne” brought the proceedings to a close.
