Sensational charges of fraud are made in a petition for a recount filed in the Superior Court by a defeated candidate for Hie Republican party renomination for a Judgeship. The petition alleges that a notorious criminal, who is wauled for killing with a machine-gun a Stole attorney’s assistant, worked hand in hand with Ihe Stale attorney at Hie primary eleclion. ’i'lie petition depicts election day as a riot of fierce and frenzied gun-men (hat would have disgraced Hie most blood-thirsty days of Ihe Wild West. It asserts that members of gangs instituted a reign of terror at I tic polls, kidnapped election judges, intiinidaled clerks and forced voters to mark the ballot-papers at Hie point of a gun. The gangs are also alleged to have compelled bystanders to count the bal-lot-papers. The checking clerks reported direct to Hie chief criminal, and llie murdered assistant attorney induced Hie police to disregard voters’ complaints.
