LADIES’ GOLF CLUB.

THE HAMILTON ORGANISATION. SUCCESSFUL PAST YEAIV. The annual meeting of the Hamilton Ladies’ Golf Club was held last night in the Farmers’ Austionocring Buildings. Mrs 11. Douglas was in llie chair. Ttic following report and bal-ance-sheet were read and adopted:— Last season was a successful one, though several fixtures were postponed on account of wet weather. The open tournament held in September did not attract as many entries as in previous years. The chief event, the Eilis Cup was won by a member of the club, Mrs D. Hay. Several outside matches were played against Cambridge, Te Aroha, and Rotorua clubs. Owing to the lateness of the season, a return matcli with Te Aroha could not be arranged. A pleasing fralure of the season was the keenness o' many of the junior players to earn their handicaps. It is imped more players will do so this season, and thanks of the club arc due to those take part in the competitions. The vs ho held office last year, Mr and Mrs Hay for entertaining the club on March ; to Mr Fowler and Mr Ellis for their assistance at the tournament; aiso to the following for trophies donaled: —Mcsdames llumc, Gillies, Hay, Mcars, and the club’s coach. To assist the men’s club in making improvements to the golf course, the ladies’ committee donated £l5O out of the funds to help with laying on of water 1.0 the putting greens. They also invested £SO in debentures." The balance-sheet showed receipts amounting to £Gli os iOd and expenditure £235 3s 9d. The officers elected were:—Patron, Mrs J. W. Ellis; president, Mrs D. Hay; vice-presidents, Mcsdames \Y. Blythe, 0. R. Farrcr, 3’. C. Fraser; captain, Mrs E. .T. Mcars; lion, treasurer, Miss E. Hammond; hon. secretary. Miss Stevens; committee, Mosdames T. Y. Lusk, A. J oil, II- G. Ross, Misses D. Mackay and Wilkinson. A vote of thanks was passed to the retirng officers, and to Mr and Mrs W. D. Hume for the use of flic room for the Meeting. A hearty vote of thanks was passed to Mrs H. Douglas, the retiring president of the club.
