N.Z. BROADCASTING.
COMPLAINTS ABOUT DUNEDIN. (By Telegraph—Press Association,)' WELLINGTON, Thursday. . At a meeting of .the Broadcasting Advisory Board, in answer to complaints about broadoasting by the Dunedin Exhibition station, VLDn, Sir J. Parr said it was not practicable with & temporary station to provide transmission that would serve all New Zealand, and, moreover, summer conditions were not conducive to good reception. Mr Salt expressed disagreement. Apart from the deficiency in volume, the general opinion was that modulation was bad and was unanimously condemned.
In consequence of the new transmitters not being likely to arrive till May the Broadcasting Company was given an extension of time to June 30 for the erection of the first two stations.
A proposal to remit part of the license fees by listeners-in fell through on the ground that there was no legal power to remit.
