POWER BOARDS.

SECRETARIES IN CONFERENCE. METHOD OF LEVY. (By Association.); DUNEDIN, Thursday. The Power Board secretaries of New Zealand are sitting at Dunedin to-day. They were welcomed by the Mayor, Mr Tapley, and the chairman of the Dunedin Power Board. Mr Nash, M.P., presided. Among the remits passed was one from Hawke's Bay to the effect that statutory provision for rating be amended so that power boards may levy on local authorities, leaving the> striking of the rate to same. This was with the view of obviating difficulties due to some constituent bodies rating on capital and others on unimproved values.
