A LIGHT CALENDAR.

CHRISTCHURCH, Tuesday

At the opening of the Supreme Court' criminal sessions, Mr. Justice Reed said there was a very light calendar, and there were no charges of the class usually described as serious offences against the law. There were only five charges against five prisoners.

BLENHEIM, Tuesday

In the Supreme Court Mr Justice Maegregor congratulated the Grand Jury on the fact that there were no criminal cases, it was a highly satisfactory stale of affairs in such a wide district that there should be an entire absence of crime. 'He trusted that such a state of things would continue.
