CHILD’S SAD FATE.

ACCIDENT AT ROTOTUNA

A sad scalding accident which _ resulted in tim subsequent death of a child of six years, named Ivan Holier, occurred at the Rol.ol.una Cheese Factory on Saturday afternoon. The lad was a son of Mr 11. J. Holler, manager of the New Zealand Co-oper-ative Dairy Company’s Rotoluna Cheese Factory, and was playing in the factory when lie fell into a vat, of hot whey. There was nobody about at the time. The child managed to crawl out of the vat, and his screams attracted attention. Medical aid was summoned, and the injuries were found to consist of severe scalds to the body, thighs and arms, from which the victim succumbed yesterday afternoon.

Tiie company's regulations forbid youngsters playing about factories. An inquest will be held this afternoon.
