PIANOFORTE RECITAL.

MRS M. NIC HO LL S’ PUPILS. There was a good attendance of parents and friends at the pianoforte recital given In St. Paul’s school-room by the pupils of Mrs M. Nicholls, and the many Items were greatly enjoyed. The younger pianists showed careful training, and among the elder ones several brilliant performances were given. Amongst those who assisted were Miss Dulcie Evans, wfao sang “0, Lovely Night,” In which her clear, sweet voice was heard to great advantage, and for her recall sang “Golden Dancing Days." Miss McCarty sang “I Hear a Thrush at Eve” artistically, and also pleased the audience with her recall item. Mr Stan. Mackie sang “Beyond the Dawn,” and on receiving a well-deserved encore sang “I Heard You Sing.” The dancing items given by Mavis Zelman and Phyllis Anchor were most pleasingly performed in artistic costumes, and were much enjoyed The dancing by Betty Mitchell and Margaret Gibson in quaint costumes of Dutch girl and boy, representing In their dance an amusing little love scene, greatly pleased the audience, and had to be repeated. Miss Thelma Judge in her recitation, “Borriobobla-Gha," was very dear and expressive, and for an encore she gave “She Didn’t” very pleasingly.

Fitzgerald and E. Moms; solo, “Valse Impromptu,” Gladys Vemer; solo, “In the Starlight,” Vera May; solo, “Prelude In G Sharp Minor," Monica Mengie; duet, “Valse Caprice," J. Homer and I. Hill; solo, “Nocturne,” Phyllis Davies; solo, “Minuet in G," Winnie Gibson; solo, “In Lilac Land," Mavlg Lindsay; solo, “Spinilied,’’ Monica Mengie; solo, “Enchanted Bells,” Jean Enright; duet, "Recollection, ’’ M. and E. Wilson; solo, "Farewell to the Plearo," Evelyn Smith; solo, “No. 9 of Folk Tune Pieces,” Tom Patterson; solo, “Elfin Dance,” Irene Hill; solo, “Woodlands Revels," Estelle Star; duet, “Plainte D’Amour," M. and GVemer.
