INCOME TAX RETURNS.
FAILURE TO FURNISH. A FINE OF £4O. By Telegraph—Press Association. BLENHEIM, Friday. Frederick H. Flower was fined £2O on each of two counts of failing to furnish returns of income ' for the years to March, 1922 and 1923, plus ten guineas costs. It was stated that defendant had previously neglected to seud returns in, and the department had great difficulty in collecting accrued income tax amounting to £563. • The magistrate remarked that correspondence showed the department regarded the case as one of the worst on record of ignoring warnings and requests from official quarters to furnish returns.
