14 DAYS' HARD LABOUR. REPRESENTATIONS TO MINISTER. By Telegraph—Press As: ociation. MARTON, Friday. The Magistrate, Mr Watson, to-day sentenced a commercial traveller who picked up a small parcel on the station platform and retained it for a joke with -a fellow-traveller, to 14 days' hard labour without the option of a fine. The sentence has caused strong comment locally, and representations are being made to the Minister of Justice.
