Following the action of the Caledonian Colliery Company in closing down the West Wallsend Colliery, rendering idle 500 miners, owing to there buing insufficient (trade, representatives of the Northern lodges will hold a conference on Wednesday to decide what steps shall be taken. Serious trouble is possible. The men contend that there is no justification for such a drastic step as complete stoppage of the mine.
