Tennis Meeting. The annual meeting of the Tennis Club was held last week, a good number of tennis enthusiasts being present. It was decided to hold the opening of the season on completion of patching the court, which it is hoped will be at an early date. • Owing to the increased membership a new court is to be put down as soon as possible. It was also decided to hold a scries of socials throughout the year which will assist the club llnancially. The following officers were elected: — Patron, Mr E. C. MacMillan, M.P.; president Mr G. Taylor; vice-presidents, Messrs T. Mcars, F. James, V. Carley, M. Robertson, H. Hobart, P. Onanc and K. W. Davis; secretary and treasurer, Mr S. C. Garter; captain, Mr A. Candy. Towards the close of the meeting the chairman thanked the secretary for his splendid work during the past season, the members unanimously supporting the chairman in his remarks. The club finished the year with a credit balance of £l3. Metalling of Roads. The metalling of Hie Walton-Wai-loa road is in steady progress, about 30 chains being completed. It is the intention of the County Council to have the metalling .finished by the end ol the year
