ELECTION OF PARTY LEADER./ SERIOUS SPLIT ANTICIPATED. United Press Association. Received March 10, 10.55 a.m. SYDNEY, March 10. The Australian Labour Party executive has elected Mr ,). J. McGirr leader of the Stale Party as a counter-blast to the Parliamentary Party’s motion expressing renewed confidence in Mr Dooley. Mr McGirr is the only member of the Party who was nominated, as the executive had given the supporters of Mr Dooley seven days io signify their acceptance of Mr McGirr. * It is anticipated that a serious split will occur in the party.
