PICTURE SHOWMEN SHOCKED. AT SORDID PRESS REPORTS. United Press Association. Received March 10, 11.30 a.m. ' SYDNEY, March 10. The Picture Show Association has communicated with the Methodist Conference protesting against the press. publishing sordid details of the Melbourne tragedy as detrimental to youthful readers. The members of the conference, while appreciating the showmen’s protest, agreed that it was a case of the “pot calling the kettle black,” as many of the posters oul r side picture shows were not calculated to elevate the minds of the young people.
