FRENCH HARVEST
SHORTAGE OF WHEAT. GOOD VINTAGE AND BEET CROPS. (Australian and N.Z. Gable Assn.) PARIS, August 31. The French wheat harvest is estimated at 75,000,000 quintal, necessitating Ihe importation of 8,000,000 lo 10,000,000 quintals. The vine crops arc exceptionally good,-except in Burgundy and Die east. The sugar heel crop is heavy, and there will he a large surplus available l'or export.
