GERMAN CURRENCY

COMPLETELY BROKEN DOWN.

(Australian and N.Z. Cable Assn.) LONDON, August 31. The Berlin currency has completely broken down. Only very early callers at tiie banks had their cheques cashed. There were heated altercations with employers on finding that they could not pay out monthly salaries. Workers are receiving only portion of their wages. The printing presses will work ceaselessly during Die week-end. The daily output is 1,000,000,000 marks, including notes of 10,000 marks, a denomination which is likely shortly to become small change. Increasing prices may necessitate a still greater output ol' paper money.
