HAMILTON STOCK SALE The Farmers' Co-operative Aucl unerring Co., Ltd., reports:— At Hamilton yesterday we had a moderate yarding of rattle, sheep and plus, the bulk of which was disposed of. I'he lone generally was very weak, but vendors appear to realise that there is little prospect of improvement in the near future. The decline just recorded :n freezing values was clearly reflected in the bidding for fat stock at auction. Steers made to £l2, heavy cows £9 IQs to £ll 2s, lighter weights £G 10s to IP 2s Gd. The demand for fresh cows was very feeble, prices ranging from £3 to £4 15s. A good line of threeyear steers from Te Akay failed to reach owner’s valuation and was passed in. Twenty-month heifers in calf sold u ider moderate competition from £5 12s Gd (o £G 1-is, steers of flic same ago to £4. Calves were in fair demand up to a certain-point, realising from 17s t3ss, according to size and quality. Heavy bulls ranged from £4 10s to £B, according to weight. Fat sheep also showed a decline, -best ewes making to ids. Rape lambs were fairly well competed for. and made to 18s, smaller sorts lis Gel to Ids Gd. Rigs were much on the basis of last week’s rates, j imeoners selling up to £4 4s, porkers i 35s to £3, slips 15s Id 255, wcaners 7s to 12s Gd. Dairy cows in milk and at profit improved in value, selling from £l4 10s to £l7 ss, others £G 10s to 110 10s. The New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency Co., Ltd., report: Prices yesterday were; Fat steers, £l3 2s Gd; fa I cows, £8 to £0; cows in forward condition, £6 12s Gd to £7; 18-rnonth-old heifers in calf, £4 10s to £5; calves, £1 3s to £1 its; bulls,. £3 2s Gel to £8 10s; fat uewes, £1 to £1 2s 9rl; rape lambs, IGs Id to 18sr medium | lambs, 11s to Its 8d: fat pigs, £3 9s L. £4 17s: porkers, £2 5s to £2 lis; shps, £1 7s to £1 13s; wcaners Gs Cl to 8s Gd. Messrs Dalgcty and Co., Ltd., report:—There was a fair yarding of i sheep at Hamilton yesterday, which ] solii as fallows Good woolly lambs i made up to IGs Gd, medium lambs i 12s to 14s, small 8s to 10s, fat i wethers (light-weight) 22s 9d. There I was a small yarding of cattle, and Hie i demand was again weak. Fat cows ! were lower, and fair, good light-weight cows sold from £8 12s Gd to £lO. Stores solil at late rates. Pigs were yarded in average numbers, and prices were on a par with late sales.
