HOSPITAL ALLOCATIONS
'VALUATION OF DISTRICTS. A question was asked by Mr ;TTaJl' (Rotorua) at a meeting of the Waikato Hospital Board yesterday, as to whether the valuations, on which the allocations to the hospital were made, were supplied by the places concerned, nr.by.an official source.
The chairman (Mr J. P.Bailey)-'They are official figures. Mr Hill; Then it is a striking commentary on the old controversial .question of leasehold versus freehold valuations, to find that the-leasehold town qf Rotorua is valued at £534,000, w'hilc the old-established freehold borough of Cambridge is only put down at £394,000. The secretary was instructed, on the ■motion of Mr C. Johnstone, to enquire as to the date of the last valuations an all eases.
