QUEENSLAND’S GOVERNOR

THE APPOINTMENT TO STAND,

(United Press Association.) Received January 15, 10 p.m. BRISBANE; January 15. The Government, at the request of the Parliamentary opposition, has cabled to the Secretary of State for the Colonies their protests against the appointment of Mr Lennon as Lieut.Governor on political grounds and the views expressed by him during the war period. The official reply states that the appointment has received the King’s approval, and is not fco be interfered with.
