PUBLIC OPINION
As expressed \iy correspondents, whose letters are welcome, but for whose views we have e.o responsibility. TKE RECENT POL!.. (To the Editor). ■Sir, —In your account of the recent poll fin - the loan you lament the fact, and quite, rightly too. of the. apathy of the ratepayers. It.would, however, he interesting to know how many ratepayers went to record their vote, only lo find that their names had been struck off the roll. Tins was my experience, and my only consolation as 1 scan my account for rates due on the 4th January nexlt, is in the hope that whoever is responsible for the b'unglc of removing my name will also strike out the, amount of ra'tcs charged against me. This seems only fair. — Thanking you, I am, etc., J. G. HAKF. Upper Kent Street, Frankton June-lion, 15/12/MO.
