BRITISH LABOUR
MINERS ACCEPT GOVERNMENT TERMS. (Reuter’s Telegrams.) Received April 4, 10.20 p.m. LONDON, April 3. The Lancashire and Cheshire .Miners’ Federation, by a large majority, resolved to accept the Government’s terms. LATER. NATIONAL STRIKE AVERTED. STILL MUCH UNREST. (Australian and N.Z. Cable Assn.) Received April 5, 11.53 a.m. LONDON, April 4. There is general satisfaction that a national strike has been averted by the railwaymen’s acceptances, thus the triple alliance is officially content with the concessions, even if sections of the men are dissatisfied at not receiving their full demands. A great deal of unrest remains, which the leaders are striving to eradicate. Mr Thomas, addressing the railwaymen, pointed out that they had secured more than the miners, their representatives having negotiated night and day. If the men voted in favour of a strike they would bo enemies to themselves and their fellow members.
