THE PROHIBITION POLL.
Many electors have been somewhat puzzled by the fact that it is proposed to pay compensation to the liquor trade when Prohibition is carried at the forthcoming poll. It is necessary to explain that under the old statute National Prohibition carried with it a time compensation to the trade of four and a-half years. After very careful examination of the whole question, the 'National Efficiency Board (a hodv of specially selected and disinterested business men set up by the Government to ascertain what measures should be taken to .secure greater efficiency) reported that it would be in the national interest to give money compensation rather than time compensation, and secure immediate Prohibition. Every patriotic New should vote to secure this great reform. Strike out the top line on Thursday, 10th April. 144
