A Sydney cablegram announces the death of Mr John Richard Houlding author and one of the founders of the New South Wales Alliance. At yesterday's meeting of the Execu tive of the Waikato Sub-Provincial District of the Sev Zealand Farmers' Union a warm tribute was paid to the splendid work done during the year bv the retiring President (Mr R. D Duxr »V i' was decide d, on the motion of Mr Hammond, that the Executive place on record its appreciation of the services of Mr Duxfield and the time placed by him at the disposal of the bub-Jprovincial District. l u replying, Mr Duxfield said it had been a pleasure to him to foster the affairs of the union, for he could see that it going to be the finest organisation in New Zealand. It was the one organisation winch was not entirely selfish devoting much of its time to looking after the interests of others
