ALLEGED GAMING-HOUSE
TWO ARRESTS IN HAMILTON. Considerable excitement was caused in Hamilton yesterday afternoon when it became known that two well-known business men, Robert Henrv Whittoii and Frederick David Jones," had Iteen arrested on a charge of having used their shop in Victoria street as a common gaming house within the meaning of the Gaming Act, 1908. They were brought before Mr Walsh, Jr., in the Police Court yesterday afternoon. Senior-Sergeant Cassells asked for a remand until Tuesday next, which was granted, bail being allowed in accused's own surety of £SO and one other surety of £SO. Shortly after 3"p.m. Senior-Sergeant Cassells Sergt. Murphy, Deteotivejfftj, Cponey, and Constables Ebbett and Koxborough visited the shop, and took possession of a quantity of books and-papers.
