Rangiaohia Road Board.

MONTHLY MEETING. (Own Correspondent.) The regular monthly meeting of the above Board was held on Saturday last. There were present Messrs D. Cavanagh (chairman), T. Long, R. Ramsay, J. Melville, Geo. McGhie ; nd the supervisor, Mr Mandeno. POLLARD'S BRIDGE. The chairman reported Lis having inspected this bridge near Weal's and found it in an unsound state, one end was unsafe for traffic. —It was decided to the necessary repairs attended to. HOLDEN'S ROADS. Mr Mandeno stated that he had communicated with the surveyors, and | the matter of areas has been adjusted. The legal portion of the business was in hand. ROAD GRADER. Two applications were received for the position of grader, viz. Jas. Rielly and Hall Bros. The first named was appointed at 37s 6d per day of eight hours wet or dry weather. During any wet days whan the machine could r.ot be worked the man to be expected to engage himself with the spade and shovel opening up water tables, etc. It was decided that thai Boarh's road scoop must always remain with the road grader. LOAN. Mr Swarbrick wrote forwarding documents in connection with the £2OOO loan for road metalling. BINDING METAL. The supervisor reported having received two tenders for cartinir sand for binding the- metal at Kairini, viz. Bowman and Mackinder 4s 3d per yard, Thompson Bros. 46 per yard. The lowest tender had been accepted. ROADS. Mr Potts waited on the Board and made application for road repairs on the mill road near his property. He had done a considerable amount of work himself and thought the Board should assist a little. When this road was made good for traffic the journey from Te Awamutu to Cambridge would be shortened by some seven or ■eight miles.—lt was resolved' to vote £6 towards the stumping and that Messrs Varnev and Corrigan be notified to remove their gates now on the road. GRANT. Mr Greenslade, M.P., wrote sayir.g that he would be pleased to do all he could in connection with obtaining Government Grant of £2OOO for road works in the district. METAL. It was decided to order one thousand yards of Te Kuiti lime stone for the roads and that tenders be called for carting same from the railway station to various Parts of the district. The chairman remarked of his having had a communication with a Te Aroha party, who would soon be in a position to supply local bodies. INSPECTION. It was resolved to inspect the roads where the grader was considered necessary. PAUL'S ROAD. Mr McGhie drew the Board's attention to this road and the matter of repairs was left in the supervisor's hands. NOXIOUS WEEDS. The clerk was instructed to 1 forward a notice to Miss Bruce to clear her road frontage. BLUCK'S ROAD. It was resolved to have new pipes put in this culvert, Mr Bluck to do the work. ACCOUNTS. The following accounts were passed for payment Waikato Argus £5 3s 6d, Waipa County Council £l2 6s, C. Bygrave 12s, C. Drabble 10s.
