LADIES MATCH. AUCKLAND JUNIOR REPS v. Te AROHA. i This match was playod on Sneddon Park this morning, .and was the first of two that the Auckland team play to-day. Te Aroha opened the match toy at-■n-kiina stSronigly/ ' Ibut a jcouple of free hits to Auckland for obstruction sent the ball ;to the opposite end, where Miss Hazard secured a goal .from i the scramble. Auckland 1, Te Aroha 0. Up and down play followed, and worked into Auckland Quarters, and after several 'hits Miss Collins scored a goal for Te Aroha— Te Aroha 1, Auckland 1. Play was even for a considerable period, and* good ' play was shown by Miss Hazard, of Auckland, by good passing in wards and Miss l L. Dearie for centreing. The latter player proved dangerous throughout and was carefully watched by Miss Cardno, whose defensive play was also a feature of the game. The second spell opened in Auckland's favor and the bell was taken to the circle by Miss Dacre, where two penalty ! hits close together were awarded Auckland; but Te Aroha successfully ' cleared. Te Aroha made a dash, hut the Auckland hacks sent' the biall to the circle asain. Auckland, however, were woefully, wieiaik in shooting. Te Aroha's next attack was headed by Misses I Gavin, McSwoemie/y and L. Dearie, who took |)flay to the circle, when after a determined attack, Miss L. Dearie .scored—Te Aroha 2, Auckland 1. Towards the end of the spell Te Aroha had decidedly the best of the game, and two good shots at goal were well stopped 'by the custodian. Miss Mackenzie cleared well, and Miss Gear started another attack, which resulted in Miss Harris making a igiood shot which was cleverly stopped 'by Miss N. Gavin in goal. Te Aroha returned, this attack, and from half way Mis< L. Dearie put in [another seiiSr.-tiona! run, and beating all opponents scored her second goal. Te Aroha 3, Auckland 1. Auckland | then took a turn and. Miss Hazard : had a shot but without result. I Mr F. Luxford was referee.

The Auckland team is chaperoned by Mrs Cardno, and captained by Miss Mackenzie, mder whose clirection they are sp--ndinz< ■?■.-.: enjoyable time. The Te Aroha team was captained b)y Miss L. Dearie.
