TEAWAMUTU MUSICAL SOCIETY

The annual meeting of the Musical Society was held last week in the Hall. Therß was a good attendance of members, Mr Lone the conductor of the Society presided. Mr Vause, the Secretary read the report and balance-sheet for the previous year showing a balance of 15a in hand. The piano has been paid for, and was now the property of the Society, and had been vested in three trustees. The report and balance sheet were adopted. A long discussion then took place about enlarging the scope of the Society and it was finally agreed that it should be extended .so as to include dramatic performances. Several small changes in the rules necessitated by this change were also agreed to, Mr Long was unanimously re-elected conductor, Mise Mandeno as pianist and Alr/Vause as Secretary, It was agreed to enlarge the number of the committee to four exclusive of the ex-ofticio members, and' Messrs Knight, .Durham and Cruickshank and Miss Sto*ey were elected. It was decided to have a concert on Wednesday, 3rd August. A vote of thanks to the officers concluded the business. A special word of praise is due and was given to MissMandeno, the pianist of the Society, who by her untiring efforts and never failing attendances at practices has done a great deal towards keeping the Society together and making it the musical success it is.
