ARCHDEACON JULIUS' CONSECRATION. (BY TELEGRAPH—PRESS ASSOCIATION.) _ Christchurch, Last Night. At a meeting of the standing committee of the diocese of Christchurch it was agreed to sign a memorial to be presented to the Bishop of Wellington appealing to him to resign his claims to the primacy, and that the bishops arrange a meeting of the general synod and that the obstacles in the way of the consecration of Archdeacon Julius to the See of Christchurch be removed. The following resolution was passed:—"The Standing Committee desire to assure Archdeacon Julius of the hearty sympathy they have with him, and are taking every step in their power to bring about the removal of the difficulty attending his consecration." Canon Cholmondley was appointed Archdeacon of Christchurch, vice Archdeacon Diwn (deceased).
