REPORT OF BOUNDARY COMMISSIONERS.
(by telegraph—press association). Wellington, Last Night. The Gazette containing the new electoral boundaries is published. It is understood that in the re-arr;ingement of districts twelve disappear from the South and nine from the North Island, while the names of some others are altered. Among thnsa erased are Ponsonby, Rodney, Coromandel, Franklin, Waipa, Tauranga. Taranaki, Foxton, Manawatu,. Woodvillp, Motueka, Kumera, Cheviot, Linwood. St. Albins, Sydenham, Akaroa, Raneitikei, Gladstone, Waihemo, Dunstan, Waikaia, Hokonui, Thp Peninsula and Caversham. City constituencies are amalgamated. Watkato —Comprises the Counties of Raglan, Kawhia, West Taupo, Waipa and Waikatn, excelling that portion of the last-named county, situated west of a road running northerly from the north-west corner of the Borough of Cambridge (Victoria Road) to the Parish of Tamahere. The Borough of Hamilton is included within the boundaries of this electoral district, as also the town districts of Ngaruawahia, Te Awsmutu and Kihikihi. Thameh —Comprises the County of Coroinandel. Borough of Thames, and that portion i f Hastinps Riding of Countv of Thames situated West of Waiwawa River and Taitoko stream and to the immediate North of borough, together with Waiotahi Riding, County of Thames, and part of Kaitaeranga Riding West of Augustusstreet in the township of Shortland. Te Aroha —Comprises Counties Piako, Ohinemuri, with Ridings Totara and Parawai, County Thames ; and that portion of Hastings Riding of the last-named eountv situated East of Taitoko streamed Waiwawa River, also portion of Kauaeranga Ridine of County Thames, East of Augus-tus-street, township of Shortland, together with Knitoko and Tepuna Ridings of County Tauranga, that part of Waimapu River and that part of Cambridge Riding of County Waikato, East of the Victoria road. The Borough of Cambridge is included within the boundaries of this electoral district, also the To Aroha town district. The following is the list of the new electorates, based on the census of 18SG :— North Island.—Bay of Islands, W.iifcemata, Newton, Parnell, Franklin, Waikato, East Coa<=t, Napier, Masteiton, NewPlymouth, Waitotara, Marsden, Eden, Manukan, Thames, To Aroha, Hawkes Buy, Waipawa, Wairarapa, Egmont, Wanganni, Rangitikei, Palmerston and Hutt, each one member. Cities of Auckland and Wellington three members each. Total members, 30; total population, 247,217. South Island.—City of Nelson, Wairau, Inangalma, Westland, Kaiapoi, Halswoll, Selwyn, Ashburton, Timaru, Waimea, Picton, Buller, Grey, Ashley, Avon, Heathcote, Banks, Ellesmere, Geraldine, Waimate, Waitaki, Mount Ida, Peninsula, Dunedin Suburbs, Bruce, Tuapeka, Wakatipu, Tirarua, Oamarsi, Port Chalmers, Taieri, Clutha, Mataura, Wallace, and Invercargill each one member. The cities of Christchurch and Dunedin 3 members each. Total, 40 members—32o,347 population ; total members, 70; population, 573,504. _ . The Electoral Commissioners notify that written objections to the new boundaries will be received up to April 21st.
