The Charge against Bolton. Aucklano, Wednesday Night. The charge against Bultou of inducing Williamson to endorse a promissory note by fraud was adjourned for a week. The Smelting Company. At a meeting of the Smelting Company to-day, it was resolved that the directors have full power to dispose of the property of the company for the full amount of indebtedness. This would reduce the loss of nhareholdera to 8s per share. After the meeting of the shareholders of the Smelting Company, there seemed to be very general desire on the part of a large number that strong and prompt efforts should be made to carry on the furnace operations, it being clear to all that the battery is quite useless to operate upon upcountry ores. An influential syndicate is prepared to take over the works if favourable terms are conceded. Return of Fiji Delegates. Tho delegates to Fiji, Messrs Moss and Seed, returned to-d.\y by the Arawatii. Banquets to the delegates were arranged at Suva and Levuka, but finding an idea prevailed that* the mission was both political and commercial, the delegates asked to ba excused from attending a public reception. They state that their reception by both the Government and the people was most cordial, and express themselves well pleased. They had numerous interviews with the actingGovernor and Council, who will give the subject their full consideration. The Fiji Government will send a delegate to New Zealand to propose » treaty based on free admission of each other's productions, with power to extend the same treaty to the other Australian colonies. The delegates were taken to see the sugar mills at Rewa. but were unable to go to Lovuka or any other place but Suva.
