LANDSLIP ON THE RAILWAY. [BY TELEGRAPH.—OWN CORRESPONDENT.] Auckland, Friday Night.
The rain last night aud to-day caused a heavy landslip on the main Hue of railway at a point near Pokeno. The line which goes through a cutting at the spot was completely blocked. It is expected that several days' work will be required to clear the obstruction. Mo.inwh.ilo the trains are delayed at the place, and the passengers havo to walk a certain distance and get on board at the. other end. Tin excursion train from Huntly got through this morning, but it was unable to get back, and the passengers will therefore hay c to be transferred. Fortunately no person was injured.
The Auckland train due at Hamilton at 1.20 p.m. did not arrive until 4 p.m., and the 0.20 train was neatly two hours late.
