LOAN CONVERSION
OFFERS TOTAL £37,750,000 £88,000,000 STILL WANTED WELLINGTON, Last Night. Offers of conversion to a lower rate of interest by holders of Government securities totalled £27,750,000 up to last night. The Minister of Finance, Rt. Hon. J. G. Coates, said the Treasury was still receiving a very gratifying response to the appeal to investors to assist the Government in bringing the conversion of its £115,000,000 internal debt to a successful conclusion. There was still over a fortnight before the closing date for applications and as the total amount involved in voluntary offers was growing daily, there was every reason to believe that the result would come up to expectations.
