THE RESERVES.
(TO TIIJj editor.) Sir, —I said Tt the public meeting “ That wo had 40 acres of land down the Masterton Hoad, set aside for recreation. This would be leased so that ten acres of it would always be available for that purpose, so that the reserve of 80 acres down the Palmerston Poad could be leased to bring revenue to the Corporation.” I also said “ That whereas the County and Town Board rates conjointly were 2s in the pound, a municipality could only rate up to Is 3d, thus there would he a clear saving of 9d in the poi ml, and I consider that the 9d saved would meet any special rates for years to come.” By publishing the foregoing yon will set at rest a misapprehension which exists as to what I really did say. —I am, etc. Chas. ITall.
