HARDING'S ROAD.

(TO THE KDITDII.) Sir.,—ln one of your late issues “ Lush Farmeress” writes very derogatory of Harding’s road, and without any doubt it is a grand piece of engineering. The individual who had the honor to select it should be presented with a leather medal; but it is nothing more nor less than another specimen of the manner public money has been spent fruitlessly in various parts of the county. ‘ I notice that “Bush Farmeress” has been over this road three times within the past week. I deeply sympathise with her having to travel so often through this slough of despond. “Lush Farmeress” desires that the members of the County Council —I presume she means Messrs. Garble and Hall —should provide a balloon to cany their buggies over it, but who is to provide the balloon apparatus to navigate the settlers of Kumeroa to and from Woodvillc, and who would be responsible for any accident that might happen on the voyage? However, I hope “Bush Farmeress ” wi’d have more success on her next expedition, and that she may meet on her next trip Messrs. Garble and Hall, our representatives, up to their neck in the midst of the slush where myself and horse nearly came to grief.— I am, ike., Auers.
