ANZAC DAY MESSAGES
ENGLAND, NEW ZEALAND AND
AUSTRALIA "DIGGERS" IN LONDON By Telegraph—Press Association. WELLINGTON, This Day. The following message has been received by the Defence Department from Field-Marshal Birdwood: "It has been a great pleasure to all in the Old Country to see New Zealand uniforms here once more, worn by a magnificent lot of men you have sent over for the Coronation, and whom we are delighted to have with us for Anzac Day. I send my sincere greetings to my old comrades and homage to the people of New Zealand for that day." The following message was sent by the Acting-Prime Minister, Hon. P. Fraser, to Field-Marshal Birdwood and General Sir Alexander Godley, through the High Commissioner in London, Hon. W. J. Jordan: "Sincerest greetings and good wishes from the New Zealand forces and the people of New Zealand." The Defence Department in Wellington sent the following message to Army Headquarters in Melbourne: "The New Zealand forces exchange kindest greetings and good wishes in remembrance of Anzac."
