GONVILLE CLUB.' There was a big muster of players on the Gonville green on Saturday. The green was heavy after the recent rain, but played well. The "weather was threatening, and rain set in just as the games were finished.. The results were as under: Beil, Morgan, Smith, Svenson (sk.) 26 v. Owing to the very heavy rain during last week some flood water from adjoining sections overflowed on to tne Wanganui green, and as a result there was no' play on • the latter green_ on Saturday. However, a couple of rinks from this club visited Westbourne, and two others went to Gonville WESTBOURNE CLUB. Sheriff, Newhan, O’Hara, Reardon 9, ,v. Tooin, .Whitton, Howe, Hill 19. 1 Williams, White 15, W" Beadle, Cobb 18. ST. JOHN’S CLUB. There was another big muster of players on the above Club’s green on Saturday, when the Labour Day tourney was continued. The second round was comEleted, and the third round was about alf-way through when rain set jn and put a stop to further play. In addition to the tourney, several practice games were played, and these, too, had to be cut short owing to the elements. The Club’s full-rink competition will start next Saturday. The following skips have been chosen, and they will meet in the Club pavilion to-morrow (Tuesday) night at 7.30 o’clock, for the purpose of selecting their teams:—Messrs Green, Moffatt, Hewetson, Laughton, Benefield, Gordon, Harkhess, Simpson, Gellatly, Ball, Hodson, Bell, Glasgow, Rice, D. Armstrong, Sewell, J. D. Armstrong, J. Laird, H. Christie, Galbraith, Scrivener, P. S. Parkes, > Fraser, Jack, Jas. Wight, and Ritchie. Thos. Taylor is a name .well-known to all Bowlers. H. I.- Jones and Son, Ltd., have a good stock of Taylor’s Bowls (extra quality) in pairs or sets.
