These suits, "ready-mades,” are manufactured of paper and are cut to English styles. One thousand of them can be forwarded f.o.buJbr <£l2o and those ato “of the very best class of paper texture,” Other samples permit English retailers to make anything from 200 to 360 per cent, profit. Certain samples of the completed suits are permitted to pass the Customs at the declared value ot lOd per article. The firm of agents dealing with these German goods declare that -.under the system of buying the German paper suitings at the present rate of exchange, ib would be possible for an Englishman to be “comfortably dressed” in a new suit once a week, and the entire cost would be less, over a_ period, of 12 months, than for, one single West End suit, cut and style thrown in.
