CORRESPONDENCE
"CASTLECLIFF ESPLANADE.
To the Editor. Sir, —I would bo glad if you -would insert these few lines in your paper to draw the attention of someone responsiblo to the condition of what is known as the Esplanade Road on the seafront at Castlecliff. Improvements (?) have been going on for the past few years, lj,ut the road has, steadily got worse, and is at present impassable to anything on wheels. Cars get stuck at all hours of the day and night, and residents have frequently lent their assistance until early in the morning so that some, unfortunate might get home. That it is a difficult job to prevent the sand drifting we know, but a day's work with the scoops now and again would enable those of us who have t» motor to town to get away in the morning without-having to take a shovel with us. Most of us who live along the front paid to the Town Board the sum of £2 each to help to meet the cost of making the road, in addition to the rates we pay, so that wo do not think that we are asking too much in suggesting that something be done. Thanking von.—l am, etc., SAND-EATER.
